Drainage Project Is Complete!
After more drawings and permits, the drainage project is complete! This is great news to share with the community! As our property is lower than others in the neighborhood, having good drainage is important to protect our investment. A civil engineer was contracted who then evaluated the property and drew the plans. Several drainage pipes were added to the back of the lot with a pipe that connected to the drain in the street. The water leakage in the basement has been greatly reduced, and the sealant will help further. The interior sealant/mold abatement is the next step, and we plan to get it scheduled ASAP. Once these preparatory steps have been completed, we will move forward as quickly as possible with the architectural drawings and reconstruction of the interior for use by The Pride Center's volunteers and the community. We are very excited about creating a new home for the Pride Center, and about the possibilities of increasing our capacity and ability to serve the greater Akron-Canton community.
